now would be if you could arrange to eall-orr Su
Mr.G.E.J. Gent, who is the head of the Eastern
Department of the Colonial Office, and discuss with
the rest of the
him the appointment of the engineer and any other-
arrangements. It is agreed that there is no
question of the appointment of an engineer as joint
commissioner:
his function will simply be that of
engineering consultant to you in your enquiry.
The Governor is taking steps to collect
written representations from the interested parties.
